Shankar and made under the budget of INR 535 crores, it was very important for the film to raise a good box-office collection to recover the amount invested and now that the film is leaked online, it will definitely affect the numbers. Earlier, the makers of the film had approached Madras High Court in order to protect the film from piracy, especially from a website called TamilRockers. In response, Madras High Court has directed 37 internet service providers (ISPs) to block over 12,000 websites that exhibit pirated versions of Tamil movies.
