Director Priyadarshan's Malayalam war film 'Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham', failed to make it to the list of nominations for the 94th Academy Awards that were announced recently. Hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross and Leslie Jordan, the 94th nominations show began precisely at 6.48 PM (IST). 'Marakkar,' one of the most expensive films in the history of Malayalam cinema, narrates the epic tale of Kunjali Marakkar IV, a Malabar sea lord and his epic battles against the Portuguese. The movie had won three National Awards -- Best Feature Film, Best Special Effects and Best Costume Design.
